Javier A. Nazario Larrieu, MD

​

Board Certification and Associations
Dr. Nazario Larrieu is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology with current board certifications in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

​

He is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Society of Interventional Oncology, the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.

Training/Background
Dr. Nazario Larrieu obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Techonology (MIT) and a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park. He obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Nazario Larrieu then completed his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and served as Chief Resident during his training. He completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Experience
Dr. Nazario Larrieu is very passionate about his practice and his care for patients. He is an active researcher, mentor and teacher. He has authored and co-authored many scientific articles and book chapters that have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and textbooks.

​

Dr. Nazario Larrieu moved back to Puerto Rico to bring his knowledge and expertise to treat patient in the island. He has developed a robust and comprehensive interventional radiology practice as staff in a 400-bed tertiary hospital as well as at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Juan.

 

 

Enrique A. Sabater Pujol, MD

Board Certification and Associations
Dr. Sabater is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology with current board certifications in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
He is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and  the Radiological Society of North America.

Training Background
Dr. Sabater obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He obtained his medical degree from Mayo Clinic Medical School in Rochester Minnesota. Dr. Sabater then completed his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology and his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology from the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He received the James T. McMillan Fellowship Award for Clinical Excellence in Diagnostic Radiology.

Experience
Dr. Sabater has a vast work experience with vocation in excellence, practice improvement, administration, research, mentoring and education. He has multiple published peer reviewed articles and research presentations. He joined the Mayo Clinic staff as Interventional Radiologist, where he served as Consultant for the Department of Radiology as well as Assistant Professor in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He became Program Director of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship and received excellence in Teaching Recognition award from the Mayo Medical School.

Dr. Sabater moved back to Puerto Rico to bring his knowledge and experience to treat patients in the island.  He has practiced as Interventional Radiology Chief and Director of the Endovascular laboratory at a 400-bed tertiary hospital as well as Interventional Radiology Staff at Veterans Administration Hospital in San Juan.
